Very interesting and up to date. Review by frankukai
Planning to play this variation with black, I bought this product on the Sicilian Nimzovitch. It is detailed and up to date. I believe common theory is somewhat behind in the line 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e5 Nd5 4.Nc3 e6 5.Nxd5. Especialy in the variation with 8...Qb6 black sometimes has a promising exchange sacrifice that is never discussed but can be found nowadays with the help of powerful engines. Ronen does mention this sacrifice in one sideline. With the help of engines, I believe this idea can be used to rehabilitate the 8...Qb6 variation. The video on 4...Nxc3 is honest and does not claim to hold a refutation for the black strategy. 'The stronger player will usually win' is the summary of that line. To me, it is somewhat amusing that most authors do find the Sicilian Nimzovitch to be a worse version of the Alekhine, yet white never gets that strong center as in the Alekhine while the positions arising are not usual/common Sicilian positions. These videos here are the most up to date regarding what can be found on this Sicilian sideline. If you want to study the Sicilian Nimzovitch variation, then these videos are mandatory.
